City Council Engages Agencies and Public on the Budget

This week the City Council will begin its Fiscal Year 1998 Preliminary Budget Hearings, which run from March 5th to 19th. City agencies will testify before various committees of the Council. Hearings are open to the public and at the conclusion of each hearing there will be an opportunity for public testimony. Those who wish to testify should call (212) 240-6758 prior to the hearing.

Following these hearings, the City Council will submit its budget recommendations to the Mayor by the end of the month. A full list of Council committees and their scheduled agency hearings appears below.
